Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday for 24/05/16

Top Ten Tuesday was originally started by The Broke And The Bookish, where a topic is given every Tuesday and the blogger then produces a top ten list of books to fit the weekly subject. The topic this week is ‘Top Ten Books I’ve Changed My Mind About Over Time ‘ so here it is:

1. Eleanor & Park- Rainbow Rowell

Initial thoughts: It was okay, a bit too YA generic for me to fully enjoy it

Looking back: The storyline was well thought out, and even though it did follow the stereotypical tropes of the genre, the era in which it was set added a slight twist

2. What Milo Saw- Virginia Macgregor

Initial thoughts: Predictable, not as humorous as it could have been

Looking back: Very meaningful, less about the structure and more about the message behind the story

3. Pretty Is- Maggie Mitchell

Initial thoughts: Well thought storyline, interesting combination of characters and good plot progression

Looking back: Being a thriller/mystery, the suspense throughout the book was staggered and lacking in places

4. The Versions of Us- Laura Barnett

Initial thoughts: Amazing storyline, really touching, romantic and great concept

Looking back: The plot line concept made the storyline difficult to follow through most of the book

5. Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock- Matthew Quick

Initial thoughts: Not worth the hype it got, boring in places, predictable

Looking back: The messages and morals through the book were strategically placed and well written

6. The Age of Miracles- Karen Thompson Walker

Initial thoughts: Quite boring, very repetitive

Looking back: Interesting concept and well thought out through the story’s events
