Top Ten Tuesday

2017, You’ve Flown By!

Top Ten Tuesday was originally started by The Broke And The Bookish, where a topic is given every Tuesday and the blogger then produces a top ten list of books to fit the weekly subject. The topic this week is Top Ten Favourite Books of 2017. I haven’t read as many books as I would’ve liked to this year, but I have read some great ones, and there’s still time to squeeze a few more in! Here are just a few that really wowed me this year…

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

Turtles All The Way Down by John Green

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

I’ve read so many great books this year (and discovered Cassandra Clare’s incredible writing which I look forward to more of!) and hope to read a few more good ones before the year is out! Let me know what your best reads are of this year, feel free to link your lists in the comments!

Until next time…

Jade 🙂

Yes, definitely agree with that! The Mortal Instruments is a great series though, and recommend reading them in publication order with the Infernal Devices to avoid spoilers in the series!

I LOVED ‘A Monster Calls’, the film was really good too! It’s one of my favourite books by Patrick Ness! I also read ‘The Hate U Give’ this year, and though it didn’t quite make mine, I enjoyed it immensely. I think it’s going to be on a lot of people’s lists this year!

Please check out my TTT list too!

Yes! I read A Monster Calls in a day, I just couldn’t put it down and left it with tear stained pages! The Hate U Give almost didn’t make my list, but it’s just been such an iconic book this year, I couldn’t not include it!

The Hate U Give is one of the books I should have read this year but still haven’t. However, I haven’t heard a single soul not LOVING it, and I have no doubt that I should read it and enjoy as well. I love the spotlight it’s been getting, and all of the themes it touches upon interest me a lot. I shouldn’t postpone it anymore! IT IS GETTING DONE!
I’m so excited about Turtles too! I never liked Miss Peregrine’s, though. Great post!

Here’s my TTT:

The Hate U Give was fantastic, and it does tackle so many important issues that should be addressed more in society today! It deserves the recognition it’s getting! I am a massive John Green fan, so of course I picked up Turtles asap on release day and whizzed through it, hope you enjoy it! Thanks for commenting 🙂
