Top Ten Tuesday

Books I Enjoyed, But Won’t Be Reading Again

Hello fellow bookworms! Top Ten Tuesday is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! Most of us are familiar with Top Ten Tuesday by now, but if your new to this, a topic is given every Tuesday and the blogger then produces a top ten list of books to fit the weekly subject. The topic this week is ‘Top Ten Books You Enjoyed But Won’t Be Re-Reading. I missed last weeks Top Ten post because of the piles of uni work I had over Easter, but I have been blessed with a spare moment to start writing and I’m excited to explore this prompt, so let’s get into it!

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

we were liars

I really enjoyed this book, but the shock factor would be non-existent reading it a second time!

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare

I absolutely love the Shadowhunter series, but both Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows are hence books which I don’t see myself reading again (good thing my memory is quite good so I remember the story well enough for book #3)

The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games got me into dystopian fiction, and while I loved the story, I don’t think I’d be able to cope with the confusion of what was going on all over again!

Paper Towns by John Green

This is probably the only John Green book I’ve read that I don’t plan on re-reading, only because, while I absolutely loved it, it wasn’t my favourite out of all of them.

The Giver by Lois Lowry

I whizzed through this the first time round, the premise was so exciting, but it took a lot to wrap your head around the main idea, and the ending seemed a bit separate to the rest of the story…

The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

This was such an incredible book, but it was so long, and there were some complex ideas and theories to wrap your head around, I think I’ll leave it be for now!

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

This book was so good, the story was gripping and had such an amazing premise, but some of the photographs are a bit too scary for my liking (I’ll admit I had some nightmares!)

Before I Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson

This was a cracking book, but the surprise ending has been revealed and I’m not sure it would be quite as exciting to read a second time…

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Another thriller book where I know the ending so it wouldn’t be as exciting reading it for a second time!

The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer

I loved Twilight… when I was a teenager! I’m not sure I’d be able to read them as an adult without cringing at the romance or anything really!

That’s it for today’s post! Are any of these books on your list today? Feel free to leave a link to your post below so I can check it out!

Until next time…

Jade 🙂
