Confession of the Week

I’m having a reading slump… I just don’t want to pick up any books I have and read them. I’m really hoping it will pass soon but for now I am trying to force myself to pick up my books, especially the exchange copies I have to read!

Question of the Week

“What magical creature do you wish to be?”

I wish I was a bright yellow Pygmy Puff, created by the wonderful Fred (RIP) and George

Confession of the Week

The first thing  I do when I walk into a bookstore is take a big deep breath in, drinking in the smell of all the glorious books I am yet to read! It always smells so nice!!

Question of the Week

“Which character you wished you were in real life?”

Hermoine… Is there really anyone else…? Smart, pretty, great friends, a witch, goes to the best school in fictional existence!!

Confession of the Week

I HAVE TO BUY BOOKS IF THEY ARE ON SALE OR ON OFFER… That’s it, that’s all I have to say, I just can’t help it, it’s like a magnetic connection!

Question of the Week

“What would you do if you were forced to read a genre you simply cannot like?”

I would probably have to just struggle through it if I was absolutely forced to read it, or just give up if I couldn’t get into it.

Confession of the Week

As much as I love buying new books, both hard copies and on my kindle, my favourite thing to do is browse the books in charity shops. Some aren’t very good but I have shop near where my Nan and Grandad live which has a massive book section which has loads amazing books, such a wide selection! I feel like, when I buy books second hand, I am saving them and giving them a good home, kind of like adopting a dog or a child aha!

Question of the Week

“Which fiction character would be your enemy in real life? Which one you would absolutely not tolerate?”

I’m pretty sure Dolores Umbridge would be my worst enemy. She would just drive me up the wall and make me want to through my hard back copy of The Order of the Phoenix at her!

Confession of the Week

I re-read books too often! I know everybody does it, but with a massive list of exiting books on my TBR, I sometimes just want to revisit the well known characters that I have loved and lost so many times before!

Question of the Week

“Which character would be your best friend in real life?”

Well, after my recent whiz through the Harry Potter, I would love to be best friends with Hermoine! I think it’s because I found that I have so many things in common with her character, such as a love of learning and studying, and of course, reading!

Confession of the Week

I make sure I have a book with me everywhere I go, just in case I get the chance to do a little bit of reading whilst waiting for a friend, etc.

Question of the Week

Do you prefer using bookmarks, or bending the book page?

When I’m reading hard books instead of eBooks, I love using bookmarks, because I can use a different one each time and they always look really nice. The only time I ever bend the book page is to mark a book permanently to save a page with a good quote (The Fault In Our Stars has a lot of folds in it!)

Confession of the Week

If I’m reading eARCs, I make sure they are sent to me as a pdf so I can read them on my PC if I have nothing to do at work…

Question of the Week

“In which book would you like to live?”

HARRY POTTER! I haven’t even finished all of the books (but I am quickly getting through them) and I just have to go to Hogwarts in my next life!

Confession of the Week

I own a Kindle to save money, and for no other reason. I know it sounds a bit strange, but I would much rather pick up a paperback and get the feel of a proper book in my hands. I know Kindles are lighter, and you can read them in the dark, and you can take so many books with you on one device, but apart from the books being cheaper, I really don’t see how any of that compares to the feel and the smell of a real book in your hands!

Question of the Week

If you could time travel, and meet your favorite author(someone who unfortunately isn’t among us), what would you do?

I would definitely visit Noel Streatfeild, who wrote one of my favourite children’s book ‘Ballet Shoes’, and I would like to ask her all about where she got her inspiration from, and just talk to her about anything and everything!

I would like to wish Parajunkee the best of luck with her Literature Competition this week, I’m sure she will do amazingly!

Confession of the Week

I don’t like getting rid of books! Even if I have read them, and I will probably never read them again, or if I really didn’t like a book, and never finished reading it. I like the way the books look on my shelf, and I like filling it up with wonderful pages between beautiful front covers, even if I know I will never touch them again!

Question of the Week

“If you would read only one book in your whole life, which one would it be?”

Ooh this is a good question! I have answered a similar question about what book I would have in a cave with me for a month, and I think I said I would probably have a classic. Something like Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice or Little Women, because then I can really get into the story and, even if I don’t completely understand it and the language used, I will have the rest of my life to figure it out!

Confession of the Week

My confession this week is that I like to sit on the floor in a bookstore and just pick up a book and start reading. I tend to try and find a corner by a book shelf, but sometimes, wehn there are no sofas going spare in Waterstones, this is my only option!

Question of the Week

How far have you gone for your favorite author?

Unfortunately, most of my favourite authors are American, so I can’t really do much about that as I am in the UK, but I do like to try and get a new book as soon as possible after publication so I don’t get too far behind!

So what about you? Do you like somewhere to sit in bookshops or are you happy to just sit on the floor surrounded by books? Hop over to Parajunkee’s blog to see more about this meme and to link up 🙂
