Monthly Book Roundup for July

Hello fellow bookworms! July has been a month for slowly pulling me out my reading slump! Into The Water was a bit of a drag to get through, but Everything I Never Told You was a much better read, and put me back on track to finish off the month coming out of my horrible slump. I am hoping to have a much better reading month in August, reading a new trilogy, but let’s have a look at what I managed to accomplish in July…

What books have I read this month?

Into The Water by Paula Hawkins

Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng

Late Fragments by Kate Gross

What am I currently reading?

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Average Rating:3.7

Number of total pages read: 928 (+ whatever I’ve read of MPHFPC))

Books read toward 2017 Book Challenge goal: 29.5/ books

So not bad, I guess, but I am already hooked on Miss Peregrine’s, I can’t believe it has taken me this long to get round to reading the trilogy!

Books I plan to read in August:

Hollow City by Ransom Riggs

Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs

…I’ll see what I feel like after that, I sometimes prefer stand alone books after reading a series, but there are so many series I want to read I might just have to dive into the next one!

UPDATE- I want to also try and re-read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child before I see the play in September!

What do you think of the books I’ve read this month? What about the ones I plan on reading? I hope you have all had a great reading month! Leave your comments below, and book recommendations are always welcome!

Happy August and Happy Blogging!

Monthly Book Roundup for June

Hello fellow bookworms! I hope everyone has had a wonderful start to their summer months (or winter depending where you are in the world!), and got loads of reading done! I had a so-so reading month in June, my book count isn’t spectacular but the length of one of the books makes it slightly more acceptable. So without going on too much, let me share with you the books I read in June…

What books have I read this month?

  • Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
  • We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
  • History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera
  • …currently reading Into the Water by Paula Hawkins

Average Rating: 4

Number of total pages read: 1,241

Okay, maybe that is a bit embarrassing; the mid-year reading slumps are hitting me hard, but I’m trying my best to fight them!

Books read toward 2017 Book Challenge goal: 26/55 books

Books I plan to read in July:

  • Finish Into the Water by Paula Hawkins – I have an uncorrected proof copy of this book I was kindly leant, so I’m very excited to read this!
  • A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Mass – I’ve only heard amazing things about this author and series, the premise is very compelling
  • Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson and Robin Wasserman – I’ve had a bit of a break from Shadowhunters now, and I admit I am having some withdrawal symptoms! I cannot wait to dive into these novellas, and what’s even better, I can scatter read it, and have it as an ongoing book, reading others in between if I find myself really desperate to read other books.

What do you think of the books I’ve read this month? What about the ones I plan on reading? Leave your comments below, and book recommendations are always welcome!

Happy July and Happy Blogging!

Monthly Book Roundup- September

Hello fellow bookworms! Despite having said last month that I didn’t want to go back to uni, being back in the full swing of things now I am really enjoying it! I’m loving the project we are dong at the moment, it’s very personal and says a lot about us (and mine is very book based!) but I also love being back into the swing of blogging too, I’m trying to keep on top of my weekly and monthly posts, and I’m slowly catching up on reviews as well. I have had a really successful reading month this month, obviously there is always room to read more, but considering I have been loaded with uni work I don’t think I did too badly…

What books have I read this month?

  • …finished Flawless by Sara Shepard
  • Tales of Beadle the Bard by JK Rowling
  • Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by JK Rowling
  • The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald
  • Her by Harriet Lane
  • …currently reading Sister by Rosamund Lupton
  • …currently reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling

I’m so happy with this list, I feel so accomplished, but why is it that I always get more reading done at uni than I do at home? I guess being by myself in my own room without friends or family around means less distractions, but I still wish I was at home most of the time. Also when the workload and demand gets higher then I will be probably be reading less anyway, but I’m quite close to my yearly reading goal!

Average Rating:  4.25

Number of total pages read: 1,908

Books read toward 2016 Book Challenge goal: 38/50 books

Books I plan to read in October:

  • finish reading Sister
  • finish reading Goblet of Fire
  • The Darkest Secret by Alex Marwood
  • Confessions of a Murder Susepect by James Patterson
  • The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion
  • Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling

I’m going tonreally try and keep up my reading speed for October, there’s some amazing books I’m excited to get to on my reading list and I also love reading Order of the Phoenix because of the detail that’s just not there when I watch the film!

What do you think of the books I’ve read this month? What about the ones I plan on reading? Leave your comments below, and book recommendations are always welcome too!

Happy September and Happy Blogging!
